News & Commentary 10/17/24: Kamala Bombs her Interview, Secret Service fails inspection & more!
Kamala's desperation is only going to get worse.

The Daily Mail- Charlie Spiering- 10/17/24- Kamala Bombs her Fox News interview.
Synopsis: Kamala Harris bombed her sitdown interview with Fox News’ Bret Baier. The interview was a total trainwreck. Harris refused to answer basic questions as she was instead used to the softball interviews she’s been getting from corporate media. Her supporters claim it was an ambush, and they intentionally made her look bad.
My Comments: Kamala Harris’s supporters are desperately trying to pick up the pieces from this disaster of an interview. Baier didn’t ask tough questions; he just asked questions that should have been constant throughout Harris’s media tour. Harris was not prepared for actual pushback on her non-answers. Instead, she spent the last few months getting coddled by the media.
Of course, they’re trying to find some light in this flubbed interview. Some claim this won her points because she was willing to go into the “lion's den.” Others say she looked good, as she handled the questioning and came across as intelligent, which Trump would fail to do.
The whole spin on this is laughable. The media is overwhelmingly hostile to Donald Trump. He constantly puts himself at the mercy of journalists trying to crack him. On the other hand, Harris has been hiding from the media for most of her election campaign. As the polls started to slip away from her, she needed to win back some potential voters, so she started going on a media crusade. Before that, her time was spent in hiding.
Kamala supporters are whining because Baier appeared to disrespect Kamala Harris. Because the media doesn’t disrespect Donald Trump, right? They definitely don’t call him a dictator, a fascist, a moron, or unfit for duty all the time. There is nothing to respect about Harris. She’s running a weak campaign, and everything turns into an attack on her political opponent.
Disgraced former “Republican” Adam Kinzinger claims she “schooled Brett Baier.” Kinzinger’s response just shows how idiotic their messaging is. Constantly harping about how “evil” and “dangerous” Donald Trump is stands as their only way to campaign. Kamala had to give a virtue signal about democracy, shouting at Baier as she relayed how precious the institution was. The presidential candidate, who was not democratically chosen and was picked after President Joe Biden was ousted against his will, shouted at Baier about “democracy.” Somehow, this discourse will resonate with normal people who care about the border, the economy, and looming wars.
This was the first time Harris was pressed on issues without allowing her to skirt around the questions with a long-winded, pointless answer. When asked about illegal immigration, she said, “It’s a topic of discussion that people rightly want to have,” and left it at that. When asked when she noticed Biden’s cognitive decline, she flipped it and pointed out that Trump was in decline. Harris seems to think she had some gotcha answers, like when the interviewer stated that 70% of Americans think things are going in the wrong direction, and Harris’s time as VP coincided with those numbers. She immediately flipped it around, stating, “Trump has been running for office since….” It’s completely irrelevant to the question.
This IS the campaign. The whole ordeal centers on attacking Donald Trump and nothing else. Because the Biden administration has been such a miserable failure there is no real success to run on. Trump represents a rejection of what Kamala Harris and the Democrats represent. All they have is the premise that Trump is “dangerous.” Somehow, safety should surpass your quality of life. You’re also supposed to think that the government is your savior, there to protect you from people who say mean things and things you don’t like.
The Harris campaign is trying to spin this as a victory, showing how delusional they are. There’s nothing impressive about open-ended, empty answers. She’s so desperate to sound articulate that statements that could be said in three or four words take up multiple sentences. The thoughts are never fully hashed out and completely lack substance. This interview just exposed her. A journalist pressed her for the first time on her cushioned media tour. When pressed for answers during her 60 Minutes interview, Harris folded again when pressed on illegal immigration and other issues.
Harris spent the first two months of her candidacy desperately hiding from the press. With mere weeks to go, she’s jumping on any platform or network that will have her. With her odds looking grimmer by the day, she’s mocking Trump for being “weak” because he won’t agree to another debate. Clearly, he knows something we don’t. She also knows that another debate is one of a list of things she needs to do to boost her chances. The cookie-cutter, fluffy interviews aren’t selling her to the public. Time is running out, but she struggles tremendously with handling the media and the press.
To summarize, Kamala Harris is not an impressive candidate, and despite the astroturfed media campaign, people aren’t excited about her. If she loses in November, there will not be a future push for her to run again. The media has been busted doctoring footage to make her look more favorable. News has come out that the Biden-Harris administration lied about crime statistics and job numbers. Harris was caught plagiarizing her 2009 book. She has completely flip-flopped on every issue she once stood for. The black community is moving away from Harris and the Democrats. YET the Democrats, media, and Harris campaign are still claiming victory.
I’m sure if you were a fly on the wall of Harris’s campaign HQ, the mood would either be somber or one of panic. The staff constantly controls damage while planning for more disastrous appearances. The crushing blows keep landing, yet the media and the establishment politicians keep pressing. They weight of government is on their side. A lot depends on Harris to win. The continuation of our broken system hinges on a Harris victory. Internally, I’m sure the ruling powers of the Democratic party are irate; they're dealing with Harris as a candidate. She has everyone coddling and coaxing her along, yet she keeps crashing. Even Meta admitted to censoring anyone going after Kamala Harris, but she still can’t rally the troops. If things go the way they should and the election is fair, then she would probably suffer a crushing defeat. However, the powers at hand can’t handle another Trump presidency and will likely do whatever it takes to win. Link Here.

CNN- Holmes Lybrand- 10/17/24- Secret Service Review Offers a Solution to Their Failure….a Complete Overhaul.
Synopsis: An independent panel of former law enforcement officials who Homeland Security tasked to review the performance of the Secret Service request changes. The Secret Service agency was reviewed, and ineptitude was shown in leadership, culture, and other areas. The panel has requested a complete overhaul of the government organization.
My Take: The Secret Service failures have been exposed over the last few months. This independent panel only furthered our impression of the failing government organization. The report stated that the Secret Service was trying to scrape by, using minimal resources despite plenty of funding. The panel found that leadership lacked critical thinking, and that effect trickled down to the lower rungs of the organization.
The panel reported that the Secret Service has become more “bureaucratic, complacent, and static,” even though the risks have only increased. According to the panel, the only real solution was to completely overhaul the agency, booting out the current leadership.
The long report could be a commentary on most government organizations in 2024. The culture is one of laziness, complacency, and stupidity. The leadership is terrible. They’re in over their heads, and their duties are too vast. The people working within the agency are unprepared and lack experience. Collectively, they can’t think critically or efficiently.
I don’t hide my feelings toward the government and its many organizations. They leach away American taxpayer dollars, and we get nothing in return. They are rife with failure and ineptitude. Then, they carry themselves with a sense of self-righteousness and condescending authority. They’re quick to lecture the people who pay their salaries, yet they will fail at what they do and lie constantly. The government is the cause of our national failures, destroying Americans' economic opportunities.
The issue with organizations like the Secret Service is the forced reverence pressed upon the American people. These agencies hold some mythical status, and Americans have a false sense of confidence in them. There’s nothing to be revered or confident about. These organizations are led by people who disdain the American public and can’t scoff at any criticism.
Things are only growing worse. On my podcast, I’ve highlighted several military failures and the degradation of our military standards throughout Biden’s tenure. Culture is one of the biggest victims. Numerous officers have been fired for degrading the culture within their command. Link Here.
Big Tech Censorship
Breitbart- Paul Bois- 10/16/2024- Meta Engineer Admits the Company Censors Conservatives.
Synopsis: Meta engineer Jeevan Gyawali is busted on a hidden camera bragging about the company’s censorship of conservatives.
My Take: It is baffling how many people like to brag about being an asshole. Sincerely, it blows my mind. We are constantly catching tyrannical idiots on hidden cameras boasting about their power.
This is in no way whatsoever shocking. Facebook has declined lately, only really appealing to older generations. Facebook was once king of social media, but the site broke away from the original intention. Now, it’s nothing more than a slightly different version of Instagram. You no longer get the engagement of friends and family, and if you’re a dissident like me, critical of the government and the Democrats, then you are definitely shadowbanned.
Mark Zuckerberg has been out apologizing for conspiring with the feds to shut people down and downrank stories. He even sent Rep Jim Jordan a letter admitting his role in downplaying the Hunter Biden laptop story. Many in the media were claiming Zuck had a “Libertarian” bent.
Fast-forward to this conversation. Gyawali claims Zuckerberg is 100% on board with the censorship of conservatives. He is a proponent of one avenue of political thought. Now, this could be some blowhard just trying to impress a date, but Zuckerberg’s track record doesn’t necessarily scream support for those evil conservatives.
If Zuckerberg has truly repented his past endeavors and is looking to redeem himself by improving his platform through free and open discourse, then he could be very annoyed at Gyawali. This is the problem with how social media works. These companies feel the need to moderate their platforms, and they often pass this duty off to “neutral” third-party fact-checkers. Finding someone without a bias is 100% impossible, especially in 2024 during our days of tribalism.
Content moderation is appealing to certain types of people. It is desirable for the activist types who can’t find better things to do with their lives. Third-party fact-checkers and other staff members who didn’t create the company they work for, like Gyawali, don’t have the market pressures on their backs. A senior engineer at one of the biggest tech companies in the world will have future job opportunities whether or not Meta succeeds.
Companies like Facebook still have to compete in the market regardless of what they're selling. Their success depends solely on the number of users they attract and retain. Downranking, censoring, and shadowbanning people on your platform will only drive them elsewhere. In 2024, there are actual free speech options out there, too, with one of the most popular platforms standing firm in its support of the issue.
Driving users away seems counterintuitive. If you build a giant leftist echo chamber, that’s not appealing to new users. It’s not just conservatives who will avoid the platform but people who avoid the infiltration of politics into their everyday lives.
Meta is also putting itself into a precarious situation. The platform is very appealing to boomers and millennials, but young people are no longer spending time on Facebook. A heavily moderated leftist cesspool is not going to invite young users who fear censorship. Younger generations are leaning more conservative, and they’ve grown up in a world destroyed by leftist policies. The future appeal of Facebook for young users is slowly being erased.
The boastful attitude toward destroying your business seems a little short-sighted. Facebook has lost its appeal to many, aside from your aunt who always cries about Donald Trump or some Millenial friends who need constant validation for every life decision they make.
Big Tech is full of overtly biased employees who like to go on a power trip. While I would like to trust that Zuckerberg has had a change of heart, it seems unlikely that this guy, Gyawali, is telling the truth. Gyawali claimed that Facebook built a system of classifiers that immediately flagged certain content he called “civic content.” Facebook is only harming itself here. Link Here.
Economy
The Epoch Times- Tom Ozimek- 10/17/2024- Manufacturing in US shows weakness as a larger than expected decline in industrial output is evident.
Synopsis: Federal Reserve data from October 17 show a .3% decline in industrial output, which was added to another .3% decline in August. Factories have shown a marked drop in production due to decreased demand, signaling more pain for American workers.
My Take: Yet another L for the Biden-Harris Administration. While the recent hurricanes contributed to the decrease in factory output, the manufacturing economy has been in decline for over a year. Several factors indicate a bad economy for manufacturing.
The situation here is tenuous as both presidential election camps have different ways of " handling” the decrease in manufacturing. Kamala Harris promises an “opportunity economy” and vows to dump a bunch of government money into various industries. Harris-Walz claims to be for the worker and is pushing hard to get the endorsements of the unions.
Trump hopes to pressure manufacturers to remain in the US or return to the states. His major policy plan centers on tariffs. The United States gets pummelled when exporting to other countries, and as a way to make things even and punish those importing to the US, he plans to hit them with expensive tariffs. Protectionism will only hurt the American consumer, as we are already reeling from a bad economy, and tariffs will only increase prices. Despite this, there is something a little ridiculous about how the United States gets screwed in trading abroad, but Trump is also taking a risk. If his plan doesn’t work out, prices will only skyrocket.
The best thing both candidates could do here is butt out of the whole ordeal. Subsidies won’t entice people to invest in production aside from people who are aiming to take a cut of the government’s money. There’s no incentive to provide the market with a viable product.
Butting out also means major cutbacks to bureaucracy and regulation. Further, the crushing taxes make any business venture less worthwhile.
The neverending use of the American money-printing machine will only dig the knife in deeper.
If you want a picture of a failed presidency, then look no further than the Biden-Harris administration. All of the symptoms are there. Economic, geopolitical, military, policy and numerous other failures should paint a picture of what a Kamala Harris presidency would look like. It doesn’t matter to most of the Harris supporters. They’re too preoccupied with their Trump obsession to care about much else. Link Here.
