When All Else Fails: Attack Their Character
Federal Mask Mandate overturned, leading to more character attacks from the left.
The Mask Conversation Continues:
Let’s just pretend. That should be the official motto of those who work from the left. Let’s just pretend that “we are the party of science” but we’ll actually deny any real “science”. Let’s just pretend that the crashing economy is all Putin’s fault, all Trump’s fault, all *insert right wing person or policy as scapegoat here*. Maybe you hear it all the time: “How can the left be so hypocritical?”. I hate to break it to you, but they don’t really care about being hypocritical. They live in a post-modern world where words can be used to create whatever truth you want to believe. Of course, this is all hogwash, but it’s a perfect political maneuver for those who don’t want to live in reality. This is the same group that says “words are truth” but deny that truth absolutely exists. These are the people who will say “there are absolutely no absolutes”.
For the last few years, we have heard these people on the left virtue signal about how they are all about science. You have probably seen those bloated gaslighting signs that say, “We Believe” and one of the lines is “We Believe Science is Real.” Hate to be that guy, but that is just nonsense. Science isn’t “real”. It isn’t a god. It is a process. Science is a process where scientists work to constantly change the science. That’s why it is so stupid for people to claim “science is real” while denying the actual process, and purpose of science. Science, like most subjects in the world, are always subject to change, and most people in the field spend their entire lives trying to disprove their predecessors.
The day Covid-19 flooded our borders, and drove people to madness and fearmongering, the virus was politicized. A line was drawn in the sand, and you either trembled in fear, and defended the lethality and horror of the virus, with a foaming mouth or, you thought the whole thing was overblown and stupid. That turned into another page of the culture-war saga. Once politics flooded in, the ardent defense of covid policies was always going to be the issue, and “science” was going to be the authority to defend it.
During the beginning the authorities, mainly the CDC, FDA, WHO, NIH, NIAID and all the other major acronyms, were pushing for strict measures. This equated to strict lockdowns in most blue states, mask mandates indoors, and in some places outdoors, vaccine regulations where some places made them mandatory. They refused to budge on these issues. We watched the madness take over the country where mask Karens attacked people on airplanes and in grocery stores because other people had their masks pulled down. We saw governments around the world get militant over their lockdowns. Some states fined people for any unnecessary travel. The economy was tanked, and people’s lives forever changed, some ruined all in the name of “science” and lockdowns. The economic impact was far worse to a wider demographic than the virus ever was. Lockdowns were later proved completely pointless, and dangerously impactful to the economy and mental health of those locked-down. While CNN kept a constant Covid ticker, keeping everyone well fed in the fear department, it turns out the numbers were all skewed. Even the CDC director admitted they never differentiated between those who died of Covid vs. those who died with Covid. We had to watch countless doctors being called pseudoscientists for going against the big guys in the government health organizations. You saw physicians like Dr. Robert Malone being attacked endlessly for raising questions about the covid rules. Any possible treatments were shut down, and the discussion was closed. It was the typical mom and dad response when you ask “why” and they say, “because I said so.”
People are done playing Covid. The use terms like “covid fatigue” or “coronavirus burnout”. In respects to people’s wishes, and their feelings, we no longer have to shove covid down the throats of the masses. I don’t know how most feel, but if Covid was really that dangerous, shouldn’t things like covid fatigue not matter? You want to know how I know that you’re blowing this whole thing out of proportion? Because of things like that. The media has their new story to latch on to. They have Russia’s war with Ukraine. BLM, “pro-science” or masks have been swapped for Ukrainian flags, or signs that say, “I Stand with Ukraine”. Whatever the virtue signal flavor of the week is, that’s the one they need to pretend they care about. Now you have people like Fauci being brushed aside. His 15 seconds of fame are over, and he’s probably looking like that meme of Sad Pablo Escobar, standing around alone, waiting for another covid surge.
Now the problem is: What do we do about Covid? Mid-terms are coming, and Democrat numbers are in the bottom of the tank’s bottom, and they know people are burned out. We can’t just quietly make all this disappear, right? What are guys like Fauci going to do? What about the drug companies? What are they going to do? Now we get lukewarm responses from people on the left who used to go hard when it came to Covid. We have to kind of weakly defend it. We still can use it to rub “we believe in science” in the faces of all the stupid hillbillies, right?
Michigan had some of the strictest covid measures in the country, and they did very little to slow the spread of the Pandemic. There were over 2.5 million confirmed cases of Covid. That’s just the number of confirmed cases. You can imagine that the number who didn’t drag themselves, while sick, to wait in a line for hours for a test, is much higher than those that did. Let’s just say at a minimum there have been nearly 5 million cases of covid in Michigan, and the number of people who have been simply exposed would bring the natural immunity levels up even higher. For nearly two years every indoor establishment required masks. People working in retail establishments were forced to wear masks constantly, while in the company of customers wearing masks, but it did little to curb the rates of transfer. The “one-way” shopping, directing customers a long a line was adhered to in many states, only shown later to be pointless. So many rules were enforced, and yet the rising rates of covid took up most of the media focus for two years. All these rules, that people followed, sometimes religiously and it did little to combat anything. For the last year, since Joe Biden took office in that dark and fateful day, the vaccine proselytizing became the new focus. The new leftist buzzword for “bad person” was “anti-vaxxer” or “covid denier”. If you brought up any alternative treatment or doubted the efficacy of the vaccine you stood a chance for cancellation. It pushed the left to dig around and paint Joe Rogan as a purveyor of dangerous misinformation, and when that didn’t work, a racist. Did the vaccines actually work though? Not really. At first, they kept you from spreading covid and when that was shown to be a stretch, they kept you from getting sick, then that was wrong, so they kept you from getting hospitalized. The final step was they kept you from dying. The point of all this is we followed the rules, did what we were told, and they still told us covid was extremely dangerous and nothing was stopping the spread.
As soon as the Covid measures started to burn people out, and the left started to plummet in the ratings, they eased back on the Covid storyline. They know there is nothing they can do to actually combat a virus. They can only develop treatment protocols and preventatives like the vaccines. They went all in with their chips in relation to the vaccine and refused to hear about treatments. The average person is now realizing there is nothing the government can do to protect us from this thing. The government isn’t God. Maybe people can finally get that out of their heads.
Yesterday, April 19th of 2022, a federal judge knocked down the last lingering relic of the pandemic: mask mandates on aircraft. We’ve seen the pictures. People had to stand in circles spread six feet a part in line to get on their flight, only to later be packed into an airplane like sardines. You had to keep your mask on the whole flight, but if you wanted to eat, or drink something you could take it off. That line of thinking was never going to make much of a difference. Finally, the theater ended when the mask mandate for travel was struck down by a federal judge in Florida, Kathryn Kimball Mizelle.
What followed was an ad hominem attack by Rolling Stone magazine. The article title started with the line
“Trump-Appointed Judge Deemed ‘Not Qualified’ by Bar Association Voids Mask Mandate on Planes, Other Travel.”
They go on to write that Mizelle was inexperienced when appointed to her post as a federal judge by the Trump administration. The 35-year-old judge is a University of Florida grad who clerked in the offices of Supreme Court Judge Clarence Thomas. According to the article she had little trial experience and was seen as not qualified by the American Bar Association. The article is ended with some vitriolic footnote about Trump, in saying that he appointed droves of judges not qualified for their jobs. That means they’re not democrat appointed progressive judges; in case you need me to spell it out for you.
I have thoughts on this article. Why point out that she is ‘Not Qualified’? Why point out she is a “Trump Appointee”? Why point out she clerked for Justice Thomas? Because that it’s all about. It’s about getting people fired up. That first buzzword “Trump” is lighter fluid the fire of the leftist rhetorical fire. That’s a word that will get them cranked up every time. Judge Clarence Thomas is the most conservative judge in the Supreme Court, so there you have it, she is a Trump appointee and worked for someone on the “far-right.” If anything, working for a Supreme Court justice is a qualification, but since they included it in the article, they wanted it to be a negative addition to her resume. The “not qualified” aspect is just to show that anybody who could turn down a CDC recommendation and go against the regime is incompetent. No qualified and competent judge would do such a thing. Apparently, years of working as an attorney, drudging away through trials will make you an expert in science. It will at least make you more qualified to make scientific decisions apparently.
The whole article is about slamming the right. It talks about Trump, Judge Thomas, the Republicans who voted to end the mandate and the “slew of unqualified judges”. For two years the left has done a very good job with getting their constituents fired-up about masks, vaccines and government protocols to combat the pandemic. Most who buy into it will talk about “science” without giving you any real science. They will give you the CNN or Steven Colbert version of science but won’t take a minute to read any real research. This false sense of scientific superiority will trigger anger for any mainstream scientific adherents. For someone who has spent the last two-years religiously following the government’s take on covid, this article will likely infuriate said person. That’s why it is written this way. To convey danger. Anything that has to do with Trump, or the right automatically equals danger and incompetence.
Instead of giving any real facts as to why the judge’s rule came from an unqualified mind, they just use their list of anger-inducing words. Maybe instead do a deep-dive and give a definitive article about why the judge’s incompetence pushed her to make a poor decision. Perhaps, an article giving scientific facts, and real studies (not all by government funded bureaucratic organizations), showing that these travel mandates, requiring masks actually work. Instead, you quote the real expert, by showing that Jen Psaki is disappointed because the CDC recommends these mandates. Well, they always get it right at the CDC, don’t they? If they get something wrong, they definitely will go back and redact their previous statements, right? The problem is they can’t really prove any of this. The conversation has been censored and closed off from anybody outside of the special science circle. Dr. Fauci even referred to Ivy League physicians as “Fringe” to show that anybody who doesn’t abide by the government line of scientific thinking, isn’t actually a scientist.
This article highlights the future of mainstream journalism. It’s attack! Attack! That is the method of left-wing journalism. If you watch mainstream networks, it’s obsessing about terms like racism, white supremacy, anti-vaxxer, anti-science, chauvinistic, patriarchy and onwards. It’s not about actual research anymore. It’s about playing on emotions. Attacking the character and mindset of people is the only way to prove these people are superior to anybody with a brain. The irony here is they talk about unqualified Trump appointees without actually looking in the mirror. If they want to talk unqualified go, look at the Biden administration, or the officeholders in blue states or cities. Look at places like San Francisco, LA and Chicago. Look at Biden’s cabinet. That incompetence is based on actual evidence too. There is little denying these politicians are in over their heads and are riding their ships to the bottom of the political ocean. If they want to talk unqualified go and watch the Vice President of the United States speak, or even the President himself.
“Journalism”, especially in these months preceding an election is going to mean character assassination. The articles written, and stories broadcasted are going to be based in propaganda, lies and fearmongering. Instead of having an actual reason why people should be going left, they only have reasons why you shouldn’t be going right. It is time for open-mindedness and honest conversations. Ask why articles are being written the way they are? Do your own digging, your own background research. If they aren’t giving you any viable data, or real hard evidence, then it is what they call “propaganda”. We can handle this. It’s going to come down to independent journalists, free-thinkers and honest conversations.
